Silver in the Scottish Challenge Cup

The band performed Kenneth Downie's St. Austell Suite at the Scottish Challenge Cup on Saturday. 

Starting off the competition at 9am, the band's week of hard work culminated in a solid, musical performance which the adjudicators felt was worthy of second place.

St. David's (and Santa) are Coming to the Gyle

Rumour has it that Christmas is just around the corner.
St. David's will be leading Santa to his Grotto in the Gyle Shopping Centre in their annual parade at the centre on Friday night.

Fife Charities Success

St. David's finished in fifth place in the 2009 Fife Charities Band Association Contest. Being beaten by only 4 Championship section bands, they seen off competition from 2 1st Section bands, 4 2nd Section bands and 2 other 3rd section bands.

St. David's at Brass in the Park

Both St. David's Brass and St. David's Budding Brass performed yesterday at the annual Brass in the Park competition hosted by Newtongrange Silver Band.

The senior band competition takes the form of a march and hymn tune, while the younger players put on a performance of entertaining music.

St. David's finished an admerable twelfth finishing behind only one other 3rd Section band:

Wedding Bells

St. David's Brass woud like to congratulate baritone player Kerry Martin on marrying Greg to become Kerry Young.

The ceremony was held last week but the band were able to participate in a reception in Roslin for the happy couple playing a short 30-minute slot.

Everyone at the band would like to wish Kerry and Greg the very best for the future.
